Mission & Vision Statements

Mission Statement:

We, the members of the Unitarian Church of Los Alamos, embrace the Principles and Purposes of the Unitarian Universalist Association as the foundation on which we build. We seek to be an intentionally diverse religious community in accord with these principles and purposes. We welcome all people with respect, acceptance, and support. We pledge ourselves to personal, congregational, and community sharing, learning, and growth.

Vision Statement

In recognition of the interdependent web in which we all live, we implement our mission through:
  • Worship that stimulates us to think and feel deeply and enhances our spiritual and intellectual growth;
  • Religious education that enables people of all ages to explore values, experiences, and ideas that promote the worth of the individual, acceptance of others, and the betterment of the community and the planet;
  • Programs that support and encourage this Church and its members to address our personal, societal, and planetary responsibilities and to serve the larger community of all living things;
  • Preservation and promotion of our beliefs and institutions through the education and training of our children, and by the living examples we provide them;
  • Celebrations, embracing multiple generations and different cultures, in which we find sanctuary and renewing challenge; and a
  • Commitment to express our vision through our individual lives and to be a presence for peace, justice, wisdom, and love within our community and the world.
